My grandfather started with a truck, a toolbox, and a reputation for doing things the right way. That mindset still drives us—three generations later.

Troy Kent
Owner, Kent Power

Powering Progress
Since 1945

Kent Power began with a truck, a toolkit, and the steady hands of a man who saw a need—and filled it. That man was Troy Kent’s grandfather, who in the mid-1940s began wiring homes and solving electrical problems in Casnovia, Michigan. While formal incorporation came in 1950, family photos and firsthand stories tell us the real origin was 1945.

The legacy continued as Troy’s father, Richard Kent, purchased the outside electrical division of Kent Electric in 1978, shifting the company’s focus from commercial interiors to the powerful, demanding world of overhead infrastructure. Thus, Kent Power was born.
